Applications for Fall 2024 are now open!
The International Circle of Genetic Studies (ICGS) USA Chapter is committed to advancing professional training in genetics and molecular biology for undergraduate students. Our mission is to promote scientific research, study, and collaboration with institutions on both national and international levels, ultimately fostering a new generation of scientists.
As a clinical research lab, the ICGS USA Chapter focuses on creating, writing, and publishing research in cytogenetics and cancer genetics through various platforms, including manuscripts and posters. Our work emphasizes independent, self-motivated research on projects assigned by our Principal Investigator, Dr. Carlos A. Tirado, a distinguished professor in the Department of Pathology at the Renaissance School of Medicine, Stony Brook University in New York. In addition to lab work, we actively share and connect our research findings with colleagues and the wider scientific community through conferences. Our recent success was our notable trip to Chiclayo, Peru, where members presented at the VII International Symposium of Genetics, demonstrating our commitment to creating new global connections and expanding scientific opportunities.
We offer hands-on lab experience, guidance from distinguished physicians, including internships and shadowing, and participation in research events such as URECA, providing members with a unique opportunity to prepare for further studies or careers in health sciences and related fields while making a meaningful impact in the world of genetics and medicine.
Deadline: September 27th, 11:59 PM
